Recovering access to the Admin account and restoring DHCP

The RESET button allows you to:

  • recover access to the Admin account by setting a new password;
  • restore automatic IPv4 network configuration through DHCP.

The procedures preserve the automation project, device configuration, and other user accounts.

These features are available on Developer, DIN2, and Connect servers from software version 3.0.31.

Before you start

Perform these steps while the server is running. In its normal state, the status LED flashes slowly: it is on for approximately one second and off for the next second.

To recover access to the Admin account, you also need a computer or phone from which you can open the server's web panel over the local network.

If you cannot connect to the server because of its network settings, restore DHCP first and find the server's IP address.

Selecting a procedure

  1. Press RESET and hold it for more than 10 seconds, until the status LED stops flashing regularly and stays off.
  2. Release the button. You now have 10 seconds to select a procedure.
  3. Briefly press and release RESET the required number of times:

    Number of presses Procedure
    3 Recovering access to the Admin account
    6 Restoring DHCP
  4. Leave the button released and wait until the selection period ends.

The LED briefly flashes to indicate registered presses.

The procedure starts 10 seconds after you release the button following the long press. Pressing the button three or six times does not shorten this period.

If you do not press the button at all, or press it a number of times other than 3 or 6, the server returns to its normal state without performing a procedure.

Recovering access to the Admin account

This procedure allows you to set a new Admin password without knowing the previous password.

  1. Follow the steps in "Selecting a procedure", choosing 3 presses of RESET.
  2. Wait until the status LED starts flashing rapidly. This indicates that access recovery mode is active.
  3. Within 5 minutes, open the server's local web panel.
  4. Enter Admin in the Login field, using the exact capitalization shown.
  5. In the Password field, enter any string of at least four characters, such as reset, and click "Sign in".
  6. The panel displays the "Create the first Admin password" form. In this procedure, the form is used to replace the previous password with a new one.
  7. Enter the new password, repeat it in the confirmation field, and click "Save and sign in".

The value entered in the sign-in form in step 5 is used only to open the form for setting a new password. It does not become the account password.

New password requirements

The new password must:

  • contain 6 to 15 characters;
  • include at least one lowercase letter a–z;
  • include at least one digit 0–9;
  • include at least one uppercase letter A–Z or a permitted special character.

You can use letters without diacritics, digits, and the special characters listed in the form. Spaces are not allowed.

Completing recovery

Once the new password is saved, recovery mode ends and the panel automatically attempts to sign in using the new password. The status LED returns to slow flashing.

If you do not save a new password within 5 minutes, the previous password remains active. To try again, repeat the procedure from the beginning.

If the panel does not confirm that the password was saved, first try signing in with the new password. It may have been saved despite the connection being lost.

During access recovery, active Admin sessions are ended and access to the web panel through the cloud is temporarily suspended. Set the new password through the local web panel.

Restoring DHCP

This procedure restores automatic IPv4 configuration, for example when a saved static IP address prevents you from connecting to the server.

Before starting, connect the server to a network with a working DHCP server. This is usually provided by the router.

  1. Follow the steps in "Selecting a procedure", choosing 6 presses of RESET.
  2. Wait until the selection period ends.
  3. Once the procedure finishes, the status LED stays on continuously for 10 seconds, then returns to slow flashing.
  4. Wait for DHCP to assign an IP address.
  5. Find the server's address in the router's device list and open the web panel at that address.

The switch to DHCP takes place automatically. Restarting the server is not required.

The existing network connection may be interrupted, and the server's IP address may change. The Admin account password is preserved.

The LED staying on continuously for 10 seconds indicates that the procedure has finished. It does not confirm that an IP address has been assigned. If the server remains unavailable, check the wired connection, DHCP operation, and the list of assigned addresses in the router.

Three short flashes after the selection period ends indicate that the procedure failed.
